Did you know that Alma Eko has a section of sustainable pet products ? We feel like they're often forgotten as we transition toward a more eco-friendly lifestyle , and we're determined to address this situation.

In this section, you'll find solid shampoos, dog toys, compostable waste bags, and grooming brushes. We want to make caring for your pets plastic-free possible.

How did we get started?

At home, we live with a beautiful dog, Ona . If you follow us on Instagram , you've probably already seen her in our stories. We've had up to three dogs at a time , so our home has been full of things for them and... Oh, surprise! Practically everything was plastic: their food bowls, their toys, parts of their collars or leashes, the padding inside their beds, the packaging for their food and hygiene products...

Plastic-free pet care is now a PRO level . There aren't many options on the market yet . In fact, there are some things for which we haven't yet found a plastic-free alternative, but we have implemented certain changes that make both humans and animals very happy.

We replaced plastic bowls with metal ones, offered them toys you can find in our online store , switched to solid shampoo for grooming, and switched to wooden and natural-bristle brushes . This way, we're not only taking better care of the planet, but also ensuring our pets are exposed to materials that are more environmentally friendly and healthy for them.

The challenges that remain

We still have a long way to go when it comes to 100% plastic-free pet care, but we're not giving up. Our goal is to get as close to zero waste as possible , even with our furry friends.

If the transition to a plastic-free lifestyle isn't easy in our daily lives, if you have pets, finding alternatives can be even more so. The plastics industry is so powerful that it's practically impossible to escape it these days.

We know that the biggest problem is single-use plastics. For pets, opting for compostable waste bags made from bioplastics (cornstarch) is already a big step.
