Today we bring you another simple recipe made with natural ingredients , ideal if you want to make a handmade gift this Christmas . Stay to see how to make bath bombs and turn that moment of the day into a spa at home .
Taking a bath from time to time can have many benefits . Beyond the relaxation that it offers, adding these bath bombs, which contain salt and baking soda, will achieve desirable effects. The mineral salts will make the bath have detoxifying and antibacterial properties . It also helps improve circulation and gives softness and elasticity to the skin .
It is interesting, during a bath with these bombs, to rub the skin with an exfoliating sponge . Thanks to the salt, the skin softens even more in the hot water, the pores open and it is the perfect time to help them eliminate toxins.
In addition, these bath bombs contain essential oils . The ones we are going to suggest contain lemon and eucalyptus essential oil, which increases their antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. They have a very refreshing and revitalizing smell. But you can change essential oils and you will get other aromas and properties. For example, if you use lavender , you will get a more relaxing and skin-soothing bath.
Let's see how to make them
INGREDIENTS
You can find most of the ingredients in the Alma Eko online store .
Dry ingredients:
- 100 g of baking soda
- 50 gr citric acid
- 50 gr of corn flour
- 50 gr of mineral salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of liquid coconut oil . If you are below 25º, you will have to heat the oil in a double boiler to dissolve it.
- 1 tablespoon of water
- 6 drops of lemon essential oil
- 6 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
You could add some colouring to the mixture, but we didn't have any and they are usually packaged in plastic, so we decided to avoid this ingredient that only adds colour. But the truth is that it adds an extra sensory stimulus to the bath and children generally love it.
STEP BY STEP
STEP 1
Mix all dry ingredients well in a large bowl.
STEP 2
Add the wet ingredients . When you add the water, you will see that it reacts with the citric acid and creates a little foam. When the mixture allows you to form more or less compact balls with your hands, it is ready.
STEP 3
Create the bath bombs using a mold or container. We used a silicone muffin mold. We filled each hole only halfway. That's enough for one bath.
STEP 4
Let the mixture dry in the mould for about 12 hours. This will depend on the ambient temperature, though. The warmer it is, the faster it will dry. Carefully remove from the mould and… ENJOY!
All you have to do is prepare a hot bath and drop one of the bombs into it. You will see that it dissolves immediately and has an effervescent effect that will create a foamy bath.
If you decide to give these bombs as a gift, all you have to do is wrap them up nicely .
