Today we're bringing you another simple recipe made with natural ingredients , perfect if you want to give a handmade gift this Christmas . Stay tuned for how to make bath bombs and turn that moment into a spa-like experience at home .
Taking a bath every now and then can have many benefits . Beyond the relaxing effect, adding these bath bombs, which contain salt and baking soda, will give you desirable results. The mineral salts will give the bath detoxifying and antibacterial properties . It also helps improve circulation and makes your skin soft and supple .
It's a good idea to rub your skin with an exfoliating sponge while bathing with these bombs. Thanks to the salt, the skin softens even more in the warm water, opening pores, and helping them eliminate toxins.
Plus, these bath bombs contain essential oils . The ones we're suggesting contain lemon and eucalyptus essential oils, which enhance their antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties. They have a very refreshing and revitalizing scent. But you can change the essential oils to achieve different scents and properties. For example, if you use lavender , you'll achieve a more relaxing and soothing bath.
Let's see how to make them
INGREDIENTS
Most of the ingredients can be found in Alma Eko's online store .
Dry ingredients:
- 100 g of baking soda
- 50 g of citric acid
- 50 g of corn flour
- 50 gr of mineral salt
Wet ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of liquid coconut oil . If the temperature is below 25°C, you'll need to heat the oil in a double boiler to dissolve it.
- 1 tablespoon of water
- 6 drops of lemon essential oil
- 6 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
You could add some food coloring to the mix, but we didn't have any and they're usually packaged in plastic, so we decided to skip this ingredient, which only adds color. But the truth is, it adds another sensory stimulus to the bath , and kids generally love it.
STEP BY STEP
STEP 1
Mix all the dry ingredients well in a large bowl.
STEP 2
Add the wet ingredients . When you add the water, you'll see it react with the citric acid and create a slight foam. When the mixture forms a more or less compact ball with your hands, it's ready.
STEP 3
Create the bath bombs using a mold or container. We used a silicone muffin mold. We filled each cavity only halfway. That's enough for one bath.
STEP 4
Let the mixture dry in the mold for about 12 hours. This will depend on the room temperature. The warmer it is, the faster it will dry. Carefully unmold and... ENJOY!
All you have to do is prepare a warm bath and drop one of the bombs into it. You'll see that it dissolves quickly and has a fizzy effect that will create a foamy bath.
If you decide to give these bombs as a gift, you just have to wrap them nicely .
