Plastics on vacation?
NOOO! Please.
As we mentioned in our previous post, at AlmaEko , together with all of you, we have undertaken an ambitious fight , we have set out to make your lives easier by proposing subtle but beneficial changes for everyone and the change can start today during our vacation time, for example :
- Take the thermal bottle with cool water to the beach or for your walk in the countryside (it will last longer and will be cheaper than buying plastic bottles at the beach bar that are not safe to reuse over and over again ) .
- Prepare a rice salad or take the sliced watermelon from home in the steel lunch box (it retains its freshness if you leave it made the night before and put it in the fridge) or in a glass container .
- Cotton napkins are more economical and sustainable in the long run .
- Coconut or bamboo cutlery is a solution that does not add weight to the backpack .
- And to top it all off, the compostable bag for any leftover waste or to pick up whatever you find on your way home.
- To avoid getting burned when you're hiking in the mountains or lying on the beach, remember that sunscreens should not contain any chemicals, as all of these chemicals pass into the body and also harm marine ecosystems. Mineral sunscreens are best.
And if you're at the beach, keep in mind that the sand isn't an ashtray for your cigarette butt. If you smoke, that's your problem ! But I'm going to tell you something you might not know.
